R-Ranch in the Mountains℠ is a private ownership resort which hosts annually, the R-Ranch Rodeo event, promoted by Charlie Lowry of 4L & Diamond S Rodeo. In 2025 we are celebrating our 36th annual Rodeo! Deep rooted in tradition, the annual Rodeo will be a highlight on the Rodeo circuit not only for all the competitive action, but also for the breathtaking beauty of its North Georgia Mountain location. There will be non-stop action, hilarious antics, and more fun than you can handle! Mark your calendars for the 1st weekend in June.
Today’s professional rodeo holds a distinct position in the world of modern sports having come directly from a working lifestyle. Early rodeo began as the everyday chores of working ranches on the great plains of the American West. These chores would eventually evolve into the unique rodeo events that we enjoy today.
For your safety, as well as for the safety and consideration of others, please adhere to the following R-Ranch in the Mountains℠ Rodeo Policies: Dogs, Coolers, and Alcoholic Beverages are not permitted inside the arena gates. Standing along or on the area fence is prohibited since this blocks the view of our guests seated in the bleacher area and is potentially dangerous.
The Rodeo is both Friday and Saturday nights, gates open at 6 p.m. with kid’s activities and food vendors. The rodeo begins promptly at 8 p.m. and normally ends around 10 p.m.

Online advanced tickets will be available for purchase a few weeks prior to the event at https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/RRanchRodeo/5837. You may also pay at the gate upon arrival. The rodeo is rain or shine- no refunds or change dates.
Parking is just $5.00 and can be pre-purchased online or at the front entrance (cash only).
Please locate a Rodeo staff member at one of the ticket entrances to request transportation in a golf cart or other vehicle down to the arena bleachers. The terrain is gravel with some hills.
Dogs, personal coolers, and firearms are NOT permitted. Personal camp chairs are welcome, and there’s plenty of areas with a view.
There is an ATM available at the front office, main gate entrance only. Stop here first before heading down to the arena.
Most food and activity vendors accept cards, however, bring some cash just in case. All vendors are open at 6:00 p.m. The midway features a variety of delicious foods that include BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs, and hand-dipped corn dogs, along with other favorites such as fried pickles, boiled peanuts, funnel cakes, shaved ice, and more! There’s also bounce houses, mechanical bulls, etc., so come early to play!
Group Tickets are available at a discounted rate based on party size. Tickets may not be refunded or exchanged, and all sales are final.
There are many levels of sponsorship available, starting at $250! As the sponsorship increases, as does the benefit to your business/ passion? Sponsors make the R-Ranch Rodeo possible. Call 706-864-6444 to request a sponsorship packet. This is the R-Ranch’s largest fundraising event and helps support many needs, from infrastructure to machinery requirements, to enhance the R-Ranch.
Levels of sponsorship: Overall Corporate Sponsor, Corporate Sponsor Level 1-3, Announcer Booth Sponsor, Event Sponsor, Center Gate Sponsor, Chute Sponsor, Halftime Act, Bull Fighters, Kids Boot Scramble, Arena Sponsor, and potentially others.
The Rodeo Committee is happy to review all vendor requests, email the front office at frontoffice@rranch.com and they will route your request to the proper parties to review. Please include your product, any pictures of your set up/ trailer and a list of crafts or food items that you sell.
While the Concession agreement spells out many of our basic guidelines, these are additional guidelines to make this a successful event. Vendors shall comply with the law, rules, regulations and codes of the State of Georgia, Lumpkin County, City of Dahlonega, R-Ranch in the Mountains℠, including but not limited to Workers’ Compensation, insurance, health and safety, fire, construction and utilities.
This is a complete rodeo, ending the evening with the much-anticipated bull riding! 4L Rodeo takes great care of their herd, and most have been a part of their family for many, many years.
The half-time show is always fun and exciting, and each year there is always something new! Afterwards is the kids boot scramble, which is so much fun for the kids, before grabbing some food and getting back to their seats.
